This early 19th century French chasuble had multiple problems: the silk was worn out in several areas, the goldwork embroidery was damaged in many places and the lining was shedding.
The work that was done: damage to the silk repaired using silk fabric and silk thread, goldwork restored whenever possible, and the old lining was replaced with the cotton sateen lining.
